Shot fast and learing to deal with changing light. Different and looking forward to the follow up shoot.
A girl I work with has been thinking and talking about doing something like this for a whle now. We decided to just take a drive and find some location. Did the shoot and the suprised exclamations of "Wow, is that me"? touched my creative spirit yet again.

This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar. A few years ago I did some pictures of the Battle of the Bands, a concept that was being tried out for a television series. Covered the auditions and the heats. Lots of fun and plenty beer, as there were sponsors involved. Some of the bands were terrible, but that all put in 100% effort for their shot. We all had lots of fun over the time period. At the finals, the band Prime Circle were playing. They had just received lots of airplay on one of the local radio stations, and reached number one actually. Early days, but they rocked the party.
This is one of the first 'nice' pictures I took some 9 years ago, wehn I was just starting out. I often think of how far I have come and all the things that I have learnt. One thing that always comes back to me though, is my love for natural light. There is no artifical light or flash used here. I used some reflector boards though. We were staying in a small town house and had to move all the furniture out of the way to make space. Please feel free to comment on what you feel. |
Me...I am a father and husband first. Then I dabble with photography and love the creative side it offers. It is when my portrait subjects exclaim: "Wow, is that really me!", that I know I am on the right track. The click of the shutter comes after a bit of though of what you want to see in the end result. Archives
